I am not one to be bossy but I am telling you to go here!

This is Corner Store Restaurateur, a foodie site that Jay Isch and Devon Knight created. They get cheap ingredients from local bodegas, deli's and corner stores and make gourmet 3 course meals. Affordable and fancy foods that anyone can do. Below are my favorite dishes, made by Jay and photographed by Devon. Utter deliciousness.

Hand Made Mushroom Ravioli with Stuffed Zuchinni Florets

Traditional Flan

D.U.M.B.O galleries

I didn't get the names of any of the artists, unfortunately, but these are the pieces that caught my eye the most from the three galleries I saw in D.U.M.B.O.

Origami wall

Elmo and Grover, surprisingly similar to Bush and Obama. Yes?

This was awesome because it was all made out of (tissue) paper. Looks 3d right?

Whatever was put in the suitcase on the right screen was taken out on the left. Simple but cool concept.

Texture, Shape and Color

Naomi took the first picture and I was messing around with texture, shape, and color on the others.

Bye, Bye iphone (camerabag application)

A wildly unfortunate incident occurred: my iphone has become property of the Lost/Stolen Gods. So that means no more awesomely cool camerabag application photos for this cool blog. But have no fear, I will reinstate the use of my old point and shoot samsung. So the pictures may not be as filter exciting but I'll do my best to take interesting pictures. So I'm leaving you here with a phalic photo of a Brooklyn building under the magazine filter. And I'll post again, soon.

Sunday sky after a storm

Food Photography

I wish I were as talented as Devon Knight when it comes to taking professional food photographs, but I'm not, so I take pictures of him taking pictures. Jay and Devon are working on a project called, Corner Store Restaurateur, where they use only ingredients found in local Brooklyn bodegas or gardens. They did their first run with gazpacho, chicken chimichangas, and orange zest flan. It was delicious and I look forward to more of their meals and I'll be linking up with their blog/site as soon as it's up and running so I hope you guys will keep an eye out for it. (My pictures do Devon's pictures or the food no justice).
